How can I safely free up hard drive space?

Answer

I'll give you 3 things you can do real fast that will definitely clear up a bit of space.

1. Empty your Recycle Bin

2. Clear your browser's cache (may be called private data under the Tools menu or history under Safety)

3. Delete most of "C:\Documents and Settings\YourUserName\Local Settings\Temp"

This one can be tricky since there are going to be some files in use that cannot be deleted. Just deselect those files and continue on your way... Or just delete everything that is more than 1 week old.

Question

Tim, I sometimes get a blue screen when powering up my laptop. What can be the cause of this?

Answer

If the blue screen is there sometimes and not there others then it might be due to some hardware problems. I would strongly recommend that you have a technician look at it. I would not recommend waiting too long since it could be a hard drive problem and that would cause data loss.
